Throwback Thursday - Prom

Happy Prom! The other night I had a dream that I didn't have a date to the prom and it was this coming Friday. It all stemmed from when I was trying to make a hair/wax appointment to have some much needed maintenance taken care of and the lady who normally does my hair is no longer at the place I go so it took forever to try and get in with someone else. I think I am more than ready to have my hair done and because my roots are so noticeable {hence the curly hair style lately}that it is in the back of my mind. The whole prom thing - no idea where that came from. Maybe because it is prom season? People are posting prom pictures on facebook, so maybe that is where I got that idea.

This picture is from my senior prom back in 2000. These girls were who I could be found with a lot of the time. We called ourselves the "Fearsome Foursome". There was always something fun happening when we were together - getting in car chases by some cheerleading squad on Tybee, putting dead fish in someone's truck, lighting a fish candle in the wrong front yard...the fun never stopped :)  Too bad we all had to grow up...

It would be great to get this little gang back together again for a reunion. Sara is getting married in Vegas in a few days - so very happy for her! Melissa and Cindy are both married with kids {we have had 6 between us all} and occasionally we will get together for a lunch date. Looking forward to our next one ladies!

Throwback Thursday

Ahh the memories of sorority days...

My parents, John and me at one of the many fun Parent weekends in Alpha Delta Pi. Mom and dad always looked forward to this weekend each year and my senior year they were super sad that it was over :( I also love how we always had a photographer to follow us around throughout the night. Is it sad that I would like that in everyday normal life too? It would be so much easier to capture the memories and enjoy them at the same time. Also - I vow to look about this same size at some point in my life again - ha!

Throwback Thursday - Sorority Girls

Throwback Thursday - sorority style! I think this was one of my favorite formals in Alpha Delta Pi. All of them were so much fun, but this one - wait, actually I do remember one bad thing happening, so maybe it was not the best, but it was great fun! I believe this one was right before spring break and I had gotten my braces off about two days before - maybe that is why I thought it was the best. John went with me even though we were on "a break" from dating trying to figure ourselves out or something - who knows. It was our junior year which I think was the best year at college. Or not, I really liked my sophomore year too - and the others...I really enjoyed college :) I really would love to go back to this time in my life. I love my life in its present time, but I really loved my time at Valdosta State University.

Pictured here are Amanda and Melissa. These ladies were two of my very first friends in college. We were in the same pledge class and all were part of the same activities within our sorority. Of course we still keep in touch, but I miss the days we all were together in school....hopefully we will get to have some time together in June at Mel's wedding! Love you ladies!

Throwback Thursday - Sibling Day

In honor of Sibling Day yesterday here is a throwback for my brother and sister! Hopefully they will not mind being featured without giving permission. The following is from my brother's wedding in 2004. I figure this is a safe picture they will like. I like to do pictures that are at least 10 years old or better, but 9 years is close enough! My mom is in the picture too :) I still remember all of the fun we had at this wedding. John was there too - and the rest of our family! Enjoy!

Throwback Thursday - Big Cousin

Before next Thursday we will have a picture of Heidi holding her little brother, so I thought it fitting to post a picture of me when I was holding a little baby. This was probably the first baby I held and it was my younger cousin Jennifer. Apparently I was a little nervous holding a crying baby or something....but check out that curly blonde hair! And seriously, there is a huge resemblance in Heidi and myself - we all have to admit that, right? Heidi loves babies and I know she is going to be so excited to hold her nameless baby brother soon!

Throwback Thursday - Easter

I am sure my brother and sister are going to be nervous about TBT from now on because I sent them a sample of what I might post as my picture for this week and the responses I got were "Of course you are going to use it because you look cute." and "Why????". Hopefully they are both on pins and needles waiting to see if I decided to use the picture I sent to them. I was 3 years old in the picture - of course I was cute :) So, I guess that would have put them at 16 and 12. Vicki and I had matching Easter dresses so of course we looked precious.

The picture below was from Easter 1984 and I am not sure why I am in the dress that is featured below, but I know we were having an egg hunt in our front yard and a couple of friends in the neighborhood were in the hunt as well. 

A few things to take note:

1 - Why is my dress so short? {there was actually a picture where my panties were showing in this same dress}

2 - Is that a Christmas wreath on the collar?

3 - Why do I have multiple baskets?

4 - Don't you think Heidi favors me a ton?
