Busy Fun!

I am finally having time to sit and post about our busy Memorial Day weekend fun! Ok, that is a lie. I have had moments to sit and blog, but I have used them to completely declutter my closet, purge clothes, and take items out of every place I have shoved them. Part of being an "in the closet hoarder" is that you shove items in various places that cannot be seen. Out of sight, out of mind - right? Well, those out of sight places have been burning holes in my mind and I just have to get them taken care of immediately. So, it began with the closet and it is done. Yay! I read a post the other day {and I would totally link if I could remember who posted and where it was from - that's the bad thing about reading when you are nursing at 3AM} and it was very enlightening. So - I took the motivation and ran. Hopefully I will run throughout the rest of the house too. Really I have been so much better lately in throwing and donating things. It is a slow process people. There will be another closet purging session after I have lost my baby weight and I figure out if I like the clothes I am saving for "when I lose the weight" or not. Then I get to go on my shopping spree - so excited for that!

Actually, I remember the post now - you know I was thinking about it the whole time I was typing and I could not continue on until I figure out where I found it. I save all of my pintrest surfing for the nighttime nursings {that and my candy crushing} and I was checking out declutter tips. In the post, the part where she imagined a scenario, fits me to a tee. This is what I am trying to change. Make sure to check it out :) Except I still cannot just throw the darn things away. Yet.

Anyway, back to our fun weekend. Some of you might think decluttering is fun, but not me. It actually pains my heart a little.

We celebrated my nephew William's 3rd birthday {1st American} and Dedication on Saturday. It was a great time for some pool fun! I actually had some sit in a chair and not swim time {not quite ready to bust out in a bathing suit with multiple people around} while my dad played catch the goose in the pool. We had great food, yummy cake, nice family time, present time, and the kids fought over who got to hold Harrison. They love him so much - poor thing. He is going to be smothered.

Sunday everyone else slept in except for our family. If the sun is up Heidi has to be up - "but its sunny outside". We lounged around our house for a little and then went back over to my sister's house for some more pool fun before going out to eat with everyone.

Monday we hung out at the house. I had a dance rehearsal {the class I teach} that night, but for the day we just hung out. Heidi played dollhouse a lot and I did laundry. Harrison ate, pooped, smiled, and slept. Daddy played golf and then came home and played with us :) It was a nice relaxing fun filled weekend and a great kick-off to summer fun ahead!

Gymnastics

Heidi began taking gymnastics a few weeks ago and she absolutely loves it! We had talked about it a few weeks prior and she said she really wanted to start taking gymnastics. Apparently Heidi does not enjoy dance class and I have discovered {unfortunately at the end of the year} it is because the older girls in her class pick her up. I asked Heidi if she would enjoy class if the girls did not pick her up and she said she would. Next class I will just have to mention it to her teacher. I really want her to enjoy class and take again next year, but I definitely do not want to force her to do something she does not want to do. Gymnastics, on the other hand, she loves and I think she loves that she can see me in the observation area as well. It is great that we will be able to continue these classes during the summer as well!

Last Day of School

Heidi had her last day of school last week and they celebrated with a luau. It is amazing how much Heidi has changed this school year. There were new friends made, fun art crafts, and silly songs sung. When I had the conference with Heidi's teacher she called Heidi a smarty pants because she already knew the ABC's and numbers and things they were learning, but we were so impressed by how much Heidi grew socially. Really Heidi has become even more outgoing since her brother was born. Heidi used to run away when people would talk to her, but she carries on conversations with strangers now {as long as mama is right by her side}. We will surely miss her fantastic teachers, but we know that we will see them around at church and next year!

Travel Time!

Over the weekend we headed to Atlanta for a full weekend of traveling fun! This would be the first of many trips for Harrison to the Atlanta area. Heidi and Harrison did a great job the whole way back and forth - thank goodness! The first stop was going to be to see baby Maddie, but due to horrible traffic {how do you people do it everyday?} we went ahead to the hotel room to get ready for Lindsay's wedding. It was a good call to go to the hotel first giving the kids a few minutes to stretch out of their car seats.

Ellyn - she sang in our wedding :)
Now she is a personal trainer - I need her to come to my house majorly!

Lindsay's mom - she loved little Harrison :)

Saturday morning we woke up after a nice stay at the hotel {John mentioned, and I agreed, that checking into a hotel even if just for a night seems like a mini vacation} and breakfast we headed to visit baby Maddie. She was only about 30 minutes away from where we were so we couldn't miss the opportunity!

Heidi loved holding the babies.
These days it is the only way we can get her picture :)

Next we headed to John's hometown to make it just in time for Gavin's {our nephew} last baseball game of the season. We stayed at John's brother's house for the night and the kids had such a fun time playing. It is so nice to have kids in the stage where they will play together giving us moms and dads a chance to visit. Heidi's Nana and Paw-Paw came to visit for a little bit as well.

John just could not resist being out on the field

And, we have a streaker! Heidi ran out onto the field.
Without shoes...notice a pattern here?

Heidi loves to drive the cars!

It was a great time this weekend and even though we did not get to see everyone we had intended upon visiting we had so much fun! Luckily we have plenty more trips planned so we will eventually make it to see everyone on our list.
