Flower Girl

This weekend we headed to PCB for my cousin's wedding. Such a fun time! The past year my cousins and I have been enjoying so much time together - and a mile long group text. It is such a joy to have these ladies in my life. Jennifer and Chris tied the knot and they had the most precious flower girl ever. We made it just in time for the rehearsal dinner {Heidi had "Donuts with Dad"} at school that morning and she could not miss!

Heidi did such an amazing job. She threw her flowers down and stood right up on that stage the entire time! During parts of the ceremony she would wave out to us in the audience and it was too cute. I am so proud of how her independence is flourishing. I never would have thought something like this would have been possible a year ago. Just goes to show that they will reach their own level of independence in their own time. Please don't get me wrong, she is still without a doubt, a mama's girl and clings to me like no other, but it she is shining more and more.

Perry was five and such an adorable ring bearer. He was so sweet to Heidi! Harrison did not like when Perry sat next to his sister though. He would point at him and grunt with a mad face!

Harrison enjoyed coloring at the kids table :) GA and Heidi were back and forth at this table just for them!

Someone LOVED the chocolate fountain! We put the tablecloth over her and her sweater on backwards so that we would not get anything on her dress :)

After the wedding {the wedding was at 2PM} we all headed to a local restaurant to have more time to hang out. Such a great time with family! I am looking forward to our upcoming girls weekend again in the winter.

Brent & Julie

My brother Tres

Cousins! - Julie, me, my sister Vicki, and the beautiful bride Jennifer

Adding my sister-in-law Tina

A mouse was in the house!! Don't worry I made sure to ask them not to kill it. Apparently it happens often when it is cold and they run the heaters.

Sleepy bug on the way home!

Beach Trip - PCB 2014

So, I'm not going to sugar coat it - I have been a stinky blogger lately. So many other things have been occupying my time and energy, but I am hoping to incorporate my blogging back into my routine. If anything only because I can remember things when I write about them. I'm not even going to attempt to go back and right about things from the past. That is a lie - I probably will because I will perseverate {yes John, I used it AGAIN!} about it until it is done.

So, I will just tell you all about our beach trip. Mostly pictures :) We left for Panama, or Panama City for all of you non-locals ;) {I'm not a local, but I might as well be with all of the time I have spent in that area} on July 4th so of course we dressed in our red, white, and blue!

Of course we stopped in Valdosta for lunch! I love this little place and sometimes I wish we still lived there. The funny thing about it is even as a child we always stopped in Valdosta for lunch. Now we stop because it is our old college stomping grounds. We went to Sonny's BBQ for some deliciousness!

After making it to my aunt's house for the night we went to scope out a place for dinner and then went to the ballpark for fireworks! I was determined that the kids would get to see fireworks, even though Harrison would probably scream. He didn't, so fun was had by all!

Saturday we woke up and had breakfast and then headed towards the beach area. We met up with my cousin and her family for a day on the boat and island! John went snorkeling with Brent and Blaine while Harrison stayed with Julie, Ailsin, Heidi, and me! The girls had such a great time catching hermit crabs and putting them in their habitats. Julie wanted to have a crab race, but the girls freed the crabs before that happened. The bay side was so warm while the gulf side was cold and had rough waves. Poor Heidi caught a lot of a wave once and ran over to me {Harrison was sleeping on my shoulder} and threw up. We all had a great time, but then we had to leave because all of John's family had arrived at that point we were meeting them at the beach house.

The goose was exhausted from the night before and also the fun day on the beach and boat. She slept for 12 HOURS. That is a lot for a little one who never wants to sleep. Like ever....

Next day was BEACH day! Harrison is NOT a fan of the sand. Like for real not a fan. At all. Heidi loves everything about it - the sand, the water, shells....everything. Harrison was happy as long as he was being held or sitting in Heidi's chair. He did take a super long nap that day - I got in some nice reading time in the house while he napped.

That night we went to Pier Park to walk around for a little bit. We ended up going into Dave and Busters and playing around for a bit - fun times or everyone!

The next day was more beach time! It was also John's birthday so I decorated a little and made cinnamon rolls. I clearly forgot to take pictures of any of those things. We went to dinner at Boondocks and it was delicious! After dinner we took family pictures :) There were a few moments on the beach that Harrison sat in the sand - until his sister put sand on his feet. We also celebrated John's brother's birthday because his was the next day!

Our drive home was not to difficult. Luckily Heidi does very well in the car {now} and Harrison is so laid back - he did great as well! There were a few touch and go moments, but its a long drive for them to sit still the entire time! We stopped in Tallahassee for lunch, a change from our normal Valdosta stop, but it was lunch time and we were hungry, plus Harrison woke up from his nap at that time. We had a GREAT time and we only wish we had longer, BUT we're working on that {as in being able to take longer trips} with a new plan we have ;)
