A Wedding in {mostly} Pictures!

Saturday John and I left early - way too early - for a wedding. We would have left Friday night, but pumping was not very easy with our hectic schedule this past week. John was scheduled to play golf so while he played I went back to bed. After he played golf we went to lunch with a few friends, then I went out for a little mani/pedi, ran a few errands, and then got ready. A few days after Harrison was born this same group of people got together for a wedding that John went to and I was so sad to miss. I have been looking forward to this wedding ever since!

View the pictures to see all of the fun we had! Now to plan that group trip....

On our way home I was playing with my phone for the majority of the time. I am not a good passenger so I have to do something to bide my time and reading in the car makes me sick sometimes. Anyway, I was playing on my phone and just happened to look up and see a car on the side of the road. I recognize the person and the car right away. John thought I was crazy. I knew in my gut I was right. I sent my friend a message and it was her! John had already turned around at the same time so we headed back. It was crazy how it all happened.

Last Week

Such a creative post title, right? Yeah - I'm full of them.

We had a pretty busy week last week - amazingly we have nothing ever during the week {besides gymnastics} and this week Heidi had two fun activities.

Everyday Heidi had VBS at the church I grew up {and was married} in - RHUMC. What is really funny is it felt like a mash of my old church and my new church. Everywhere I turned there was someone I knew from one of the churches. It was a huge event and Heidi's cousins were attending as well. On the first day it was a little crazy because I wanted to switch Heidi to be in a class with her cousins so that she would have some familiar faces with her. In the end she knew several kids in her class, he cousins, and two boys from her pre-school class. There were also a few kids that I knew the parents of in her class. The first day was a little hard because she did not want to go, but the rest of the week went smoothly at drop off. I really enjoyed the mom time being able to see and talk to other moms.

The only mishap was at closing ceremonies. Oh boy. Heidi did not want to perform in the ceremonies so I tried to get there beforehand to grab her. Apparently I missed the time and so I headed to the sanctuary where everyone would be. All of the pre-schoolers were in the front row. Except Heidi. I saw her class, her cousins, everyone else, but Heidi. I frantically went up and down the side aisles of the church and still could not find her. When the pre-schoolers were finished and I still could not find her my heart started racing and my eyes were burning because I was about to burst into tears. A couple of friends and my sister were also helping me to find Heidi and my friends spotted her first. Someone was holding her, apparently she had to go potty. I cannot tell you how scared I was in that moment - pure panic and fear.

This week Heidi also had a three day dance camp. Harrison enjoyed some time laying and playing with his friend Garrett while they waited for their sisters to dance. These nights were a little late, but Heidi was super tired after each day was over - plus!

We also had the kids pictures taken this week - Heidi's 3 year and Harrison's 3 month. This will mark Harrison's first time to the beach!

For some reason, maybe because we were already so busy, I decided that I would wake up each morning and run. Of course this means earlier bedtimes for me and then once Harrison has his morning feeding and goes back to bed I run. Just a few notes I would like to leave with you on running:

- There is a huge temperature difference between 6:30 and 7:30.
- Running on trash pick-up mornings, gross!
- There are a lot of morning runners.
- Running ruins my current hair washing schedule.

4th of July Weekend

So - a week later I am giving our 4th of July fun weekend update :)

ON the actual day of the 4th we didn't do anything. We all hung out at home only leaving to go to lunch. It was great! The weather seemed to be a bit iffy and we were concerned that if we went somewhere it would rain, so we just opted to have a carefree day. It didn't rain, but that is okay. I actually started praying for a downpour when nighttime came because I did not want to hear the fireworks so late at night. Luckily it was not bad at all!

Friday night my mom came over to spend the night and watch the kids while John and I left for a few hours to go to a party on St. Simons Island. We were invited to our friend Sean's surprise 30th birthday party. John and I had a great time - seeing so many familiar faces. I know I always say this, but I love having get togethers with friends. It was a "hipster" theme - I just dressed like normal because I was not quite sure what to dress like - ha!

Saturday was brunch with my friend Johanna, her brother Jon, and her boyfriend Thomas. I love that I got to spend some time with Johanna - I miss her being right down the street :( It was my first time meeting Thomas, so I had to give my approval :) We went to Clary's downtown. I had an amazing omelet. Really, it was so good! I had never been to this restaurant before, but if you have read the book Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil you will be familiar.

Sunday was John's birthday and we had a little cookout and pool party with the family. I was super excited to give John his birthday present because it was something he was really going to enjoy - tickets to a Steeler game in Pittsburgh! Yay! I told him I was really excited to see Dancing with the Stars contestant Jacoby Jones. He's not a Steeler - he's a Raven :)

Last Weekend

We have had so much going on - weekends have been on in full force and there is not any light in sight of letting up! The kids and I traveled to Atlanta with my parents so that we could celebrate. It was late when we got there and this amazing thing happened. Harrison fell asleep in the car on the way {after a small scream session driving through Henry County} and then once we got to my brother's house we took all of our stuff inside. I took Harrison out of his carseat, set up his bed, changed his diaper and put him in his bed. During the whole time he stayed asleep - what?!?!? Seriously, he is such a great sleeper and I love it!

The next day we celebrated Olivia's birthday at a gymnastics place. Heidi loved jumping on the trampoline and running around with the hula hoop. Harrison liked napping in the moby and then later stretching out on the trampoline. Later that night we had a little cookout and watched Olivia open her presents. Once the kids {well, the younger ones} went to sleep we hung out with the family and the girls started planning our future "girl cousin" trip - so excited! It is nice having cousins that are so close and more like siblings.

Sunday we came home and once again - so exhausted!! I am noticing it is absolutely impossible for me to take pictures of everything going on now with both Heidi and Harrison. I am going to have to start stealing family member's pictures for my photo books!!

Harrison - 3 Months

Hello Harrison - you are three months old now! You smile ALL of the time and are such a happy little boy. Rarely are you upset or not content. You are like the dream child because you sleep! I say that will love because your sister never wanted to sleep. Daddy and I do not even know what to do with ourselves because we have adult time after 8PM when you and your sister have gone to bed. It scares me to death, but you are a tummy sleeper. At night I can put you down at 7ish on your belly and you will sleep until around 5AM - seriously. I want to brag about your sleeping habits to everyone, but I know what it is like to be on the opposite end when your sister never wanted to sleep. The other day during your nap you were sucking and sucking trying to find your thumb {you and Heidi both have such heavy oral fixations} and then it got quiet. I turned to look over at you and you were sucking your little thumb. It was adorable.

Your dimple gets me every time - it is so stinking cute I love it. The smiles you give are just so big and full. You have been discovering your voice more and it is so sweet. The other day daddy was making noises and you were answering him. Y'all kept going back and forth, it was so sweet.

You are wearing size 0-3, 3, and 3-6 months. Diapers are a size 2. You drool so much. I think I have only seen you spit up twice, but you drool all the time.

You have a little schedule going on which is nice. You wake up around 8AM, hang out, eat, and play. Naptime is around 10AM for a little over an hour. After your morning nap you will eat, play, and hang out, then you nap again around 1PM until about 3-4PM. You follow the same steps as usual and then around 6PM you start getting into your "I'm fussy because I want to go to sleep" stage and we put you in your pajamas {which always makes you smile} and then you eat until you go to sleep. You sleep until about 5AM, wake up to eat and then go back to sleep and then start it all over again!

Right now you are still in the pack-n-play in our room. I love having you close by. Sometimes I feel so bad that you cannot sleep in the bed with the rest of us. The way your sister sleeps that is impossible. After I lay you down I never know what position I will find you in when I come to check on you. Right now you like to scoot all around. If I lay you on your back you have the hardest time getting settled and you roll around trying to get on your belly. I think after awhile you kind of give up and lay on your side. You are content laying on your back when you are awake, just not to sleep.

You love to look at yourself. I have discovered that car trips {unless you are tired} and much more enjoyable if you have a mirror to look at yourself. When we were traveling to Atlanta the other weekend you were fussing {hungry} so I took the iPad and put in on the reverse camera mode and you instantly settled down and started smiling so big! So vain :)

I love to watch your eyes try and find us when your daddy or I speak. You also love to watch your sister. You LOVE when she wallers all over you and hugs you - it is so sweet! Harrison, you are so blessed to have a big sister like Heidi. She loves you so much and I can tell you love her too. I cannot wait to see how even more precious the two of you become as siblings.
